The Railcar Type 2 Sashiko indigo jacket are now available! For this design, we opt to presoak the sashiko fabric before the cut and sew process. This added step will remove any of the difficult, hard to calculate shrinkage out of it. This will help you size it much easer taking the guess work out of it. The presoak before the cut process will also remove a lot of the bleeding and get the sashiko fading started. The fabric is 12 ounces and is comfortable at first wear. Our Type 2 version has a few details to improve the jacket for todays modern styling. Hand pockets were added for comfort, huge interior shelled edge pockets for added storage to name a couple. Fit and quality finish is on point to exceed todays standards. The jackets are design and handmade manufactured in-house at the Railcar factory in El Monte, California in small batches.
Delivery:
These jackets are made when ordered to conserve the fabric. Orders will be fulfilled in the order received. Allow a short 4 to 5 week production time. Think ahead and order early. These are special and are handmade one by one just for you.

By only producing what is sold with a little bit of overage in inventory, we are able to keep the cost low and pass the savings along to you. Sizing And Shrinkage Info:
We presoaked this fabric before the cut and sew process to take away any guess work. Presoaking also removes a lot of the indigo bleeding that is common with sashiko fabric. We recommend sizing to your normally bought size. Don't size up nor down.
