Crafted from 13.75 oz raw selvedge denim with a richly slubby dark indigo warp and contrasting gray weft, this fabric delivers a distinctive appearance from day one and only becomes more impressive with wear. The deep indigo surface gradually fades through everyday use, revealing striking contrast and personalized character unique to each wearer. Over time, it develops bold, high-contrast fades that tell the story of your journey in the denim.

Despite its substantial feel, this denim is surprisingly soft from the very first wear, requiring minimal break-in while still delivering the authentic raw denim experience enthusiasts appreciate. During the initial break-in period, the dark indigo will naturally crock (transfer color), just as premium raw denim should—a sign that the denim is beginning to evolve into a pair that's uniquely yours.

To complement the rich indigo fabric, we selected tonal stitching throughout the entire garment for a cleaner, more refined appearance. Rather than competing with the denim, the matching thread keeps the focus on the fabric itself and the beautiful fade progression that develops over time. The result is a timeless, understated aesthetic that looks sophisticated when new and becomes even more rewarding as the denim breaks in and gains character.

The Railcar Tarmac was designed with a relaxed, boxy fit that sits right at the belt line for a clean modern silhouette. To achieve this shape, the jacket features slightly dropped shoulders and sleeves designed to hit naturally at the wrist without stacking. The overall fit was intentionally developed to feel easy, relaxed, and comfortable while maintaining a structured look.

Sizing And Shrinkage Info:
After performing an in-house shrink test on this fabric, the results has minimal shrinkage of .5 inches in the chest. This particular fabric will shrink .5 inch in length. Keep that in mind when sizing. We still recommend sizing to your normally bought size as this jacket has more of a relaxed fit. Don't size down and don't size up.

Expected Fabric Aging And Wears:
The raw denim will feel crisp and structured when brand new, giving the Tarmac its signature relaxed boxy silhouette. As the jacket breaks in through regular wear, the fabric will begin to soften, drape more naturally, and mold to the shape and movement of your body. Areas like the shoulders, sleeves, and torso will gradually relax and form unique wear patterns that make the fit feel more personal over time. After the first wash cycle especially, expect the denim to settle into a more fluid, broken-in feel while still maintaining the Tarmac’s intended relaxed fit and character.
