The Railcar Chore Coat made of the D005 Cone Mills Hickory is crafted from 12 oz stripped indigo, natural white stretch denim. A year-round weight that's solid and substantial, yet surprisingly soft on for comfortable daily wear.

The Railcar Chore Coat:
Our chore coat is built the way workwear was meant to be built durable, functional, and made to last for years, not seasons. Inspired by classic American and European chore coats worn by craftsmen, railroad workers, and machinists in the late 1800s and early 1900s, this coat carries forward that same timeless design and purpose.

Each coat is handcrafted in our workshop, one at a time, with careful attention to construction, fit, and durability. We focus on clean sewing, reinforced stress points, and fabrics that age with character. This is the kind of jacket that breaks in over time, developing wear patterns that tell your story.

Designed with traditional patch pockets, a comfortable workwear fit, and sturdy construction, the chore coat is practical enough for daily wear while still clean enough to dress up. It’s a true heritage workwear staple  simple, functional, and built to last.

This is not mass-produced fast fashion. This is small-batch, handcrafted workwear, made with intention and respect for traditional garment construction.

Delivery:
We have a limited amount of quantity of this fabric on hand and our supplier is currently out of stock with no news of reordering. Orders will be cut and sewn immediately, in the order they are received. Please allow a short 2-3 week delivery time  after your order is placed.

Sizing And Shrinkage Info:
After performing an in-house shrink test on this fabric, the results have minimal shrinkage of less than a half a size in the waist and width. We recommend sizing to your normally bought size. The length will shrink a half inch.

Shop with confidence. The purchase is not sales final; should a return or exchange be necessary, regular Railcar return policies will apply. 

Oversell Note:
If for some reason we run out of fabric, the later orders will be canceled and fully refunded. You will be notified as soon as it is known. Orders will be made in the order in received. 

How We Make Them Inexpensive:
By only producing what is sold with a little bit of overage in inventory, we are able to keep the cost low and pass the savings along to you. Unlike other brands, we don't manufacture unsold items, which means you are not covering the cost of excess inventory. We are dedicated to only making what will be worn, allowing us to offer these handcrafted at an affordable price.
